Dalí in his Theater-Museum seen by «Meli»

With the title Dalí in his Theater-Museum seen by «Meli», the exhibition presents the artist at various moments in the process of creating his last great work: the Dalí Theater-Museum in Figueres, built on the remains of the old municipal theater in the rehabilitation and intervention of which the artist has been involved since 1961. The aim was to make it the greatest temple of surrealism. These photographs, a testament to the complicity between Dalí and Meli, involve us in the gestation and construction of the Theater-Museum during the 1970s. We see the artist painting the panels on the ceiling of the Palau del Vent or, together with Gala and Antoni Pitxot, supervising the installation of the sculptures of the “grotesque” monsters in the courtyard of armchairs.
