Treasures of Empúries/ Asclepius of Empúries

The archaeological complex of Empúries preserves a good sample of the archaeological pieces that emerged from the excavations, not only from the Greek and Roman city of Empúries, but also from its immediate surroundings, the result of 110 years of systematic archaeological research.

Until the next reopening of the museum’s permanent exhibition, which is currently closed to the public, this temporary exhibition allows you to contemplate and enjoy a wide selection of the most relevant pieces preserved in the collections of the Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya in Empúries, true treasures of Emporium archaeology, which constitute the indispensable complement of the visit to the archaeological site.

You can also see a temporary presentation of the Hellenistic statue of Asclepius, one of the most emblematic finds of Empòrion’s Greek past.

Place: MAC-Empúries temporary exhibition hall

Exhibition hours: From Monday to Sunday from 10am to 5.30pm

Free entry with entry to the MAC-Empúries
