Paths of exile – La Jonquera

Monuments of the Vajol, the canta mine and the Coll de Manrella

We will start the day visiting the emblematic monuments of Vajol. We will follow the route on foot until we reach Mina Canta, an old talc mine where Juan Negrín ordered to hide a consignment of works of art from the Prado Museum, as well as the funds and currencies of the Bank of Spain.

Having returned from the mine, we will travel by vehicle to the Coll de Manrella, one of the important border crossings of the time, where we will find the famous monument of Lluís Companys.
