The ports of l'Empordà

Ports de l’Empordà, a unique coastal region that captivates with its diversity and natural richness. This area, dominated by the mythical and rugged Cape de Creus, mellows upon reaching the bay of Roses, where the confluence of the rivers Muga and Fluvià creates an extensive beach of more than fifteen kilometers of golden sand, becoming an international meeting point for lovers of windsurfing and kitesurfing.

Sailors have the opportunity to enjoy the dozens of secluded coves with transparent waters of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, as well as the unique experience of strolling through the marshes of the Empordà Natural Marshes Park and exploring the ruins of the Greco-Roman city of Empúries. Heading south, the coastal landscape changes, with impressive cliffs of limestone rocks, dominated by pine forests that reach the sea, providing shade to the secluded cove beaches.

In this part of the coast, we find the Montgrí Natural Park, the Medes Islands, and the Baix Ter, with the spectacular Medes Islands off the coast of Estartit, known as an international diving paradise. Also noteworthy are the Formigues Islands, a group of sixteen small rocky islets between Palamós and Calella de Palafrugell, a mile from the tip of Castell.

The imposing peak of Cape Begur and the lighthouse of Cape Sant Sebastià overlook this coast, being the main reference for sailors. Explore with us the secrets and beauty of the Ports de l’Empordà, where every corner is a discovery and every landscape, a natural masterpiece.
