This is a low gravel route in terms of physical and technical difficulty around the historic town of Castelló d’Empúries. It is recommended to visit the different corners of the town’s old quarter.
The route takes you to the outskirts of the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà , pedaling northeast through the Catalan Venice, Empuriabrava, with its scenic canals. Before that, you’ll pass the Muga River estuary flowing into the Mediterranean.
The return route passes the VilaĂĽt ponds, a famous spot for photographing flocks of starlings with the snow-capped CanigĂł in the background.
Finally, a flat track in good condition leads back to the starting point. This gravel route combines nature, landscape, and history, offering a gentle yet highly enjoyable experience for any gravel enthusiast.
