Cista de la Tomba del General, also known as the cist of Coll del Fitó. This prehistoric monument, consisting of a cist with a tumulus, stands as a well-preserved archaeological gem, thanks to meticulous restoration in 1987, which has facilitated its interpretation.
The name “Tomba del General” (General’s Tomb) likely comes from popular imagination, as it was known that these megaliths served a funerary purpose. Nevertheless, the historical and cultural distance from the megalithic period made its direct interpretation impossible, leading to the assumption that it could be the tomb of some significant figure, such as a general, although their identity remained unknown.
This prehistoric monument stands out as one of the oldest in the area, dating back between 6,000 and 5,500 years. We invite you to delve into the mysterious past of this site, discovering its ancient stories and connecting with the deep roots of our history.
