The monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes is one of the most important monasteries in the Catalan Romanesque.
It has the declaration of Cultural Asset of National Interest, together with the Castle of Verdera and the town of Santa Creu de Rodes. Together, they form a monumental ensemble of great interest, with an exceptional panoramic view.
The first documentary news dates from the year 878, when it was a humble monastic cell.
