Pilar Castelló, from Figueres by birth and self-taught painter, will have her first exhibition at the Cultural Tourism Center of Sant Domènec de Peralada. With a degree in Art History, she has dedicated her professional life to teaching in institutes in the provinces of Girona and Tarragona. This background helped him get started in the world of art.

The artist from Figueres understands his painting as a means of expressing his emotions, longings, purposes and goals. He feels it as a path of exploration and experimentation through color and form.

His works must be observed from spontaneity and naivety, leaving aside all kinds of socially inherited figurative imaginaries. The viewer must feel free to observe without prejudice and be aware of what they feel while observing.

The technique used is mixed, all materials have a place. She uses quite a few (minerals, volcanic sand, leaves…), which she collects herself. It is also expressed through collage.

The colors he uses are acrylics that he combines with sprays, he uses the whole chromatic range, but above all bright colors, which captivate the viewer’s gaze. He really likes textures, creating volumes.

The opening, which will take place on Friday November 11 at 8 p.m., and to which you are invited, will be attended by the artist.
