SALVADOR DALÍ AND THE AUTOMOBILE

Salvador Dalí never drove a vehicle that is known, but from a young age he was attracted to automobiles which he saw as a symbol of machinery and modernity. The automobile becomes a constant iconographic element in Dalí’s work, from an early Issota Faschini advertisement for the Residencia de Estudiantes magazine to the Taxi Plujós, from the Teatre-Museum.

Josep Playà and Martí Dacosta will delve, through several projections, into a fascination with proper names (Ford, Cadillac, Datsun, Rolls Royce, Michelin and Ferrari, among others) which is one of the lesser known faces of the Dalinian universe.
