Illa Albanyà Riparian Woodland

This roughly 35,000 m² riparian forest near the Fluvià river is rich with natural and cultural heritage and is home to typical riparian trees as well as foreign species like pines, ivy, and different types of weeds. Several old structures can be found in the forest, including a bench, a laundry room, and a well. Next to the forest are also ponds formed by earlier aggregate exploitation sites.

Considered a natural and cultural site, the forest has been equipped with trails so that visitors can explore the area and connect with the path from Sant Pere Pescador with the path and bike lane that lead to the municipality of Sant Miquel de Fluvià, works completed under the FEDER Project (Point 6: Conservation, promotion and development of the natural and cultural heritage of the Empordà) from 2014 to 2020.
