Located in a former abattoir (a 1913 building), the Anchovy and Salt Museum takes you back in time to some unique culture and heritage.
The permanent exhibition shows the history of local fishing from the 16th century until today, especially anchovy salting, an industry which, over the centuries, has been the town’s driving force, giving it world wide fame.
The Museum organizes cultural tours.
Beside the museum are the old town’s fountain and wash-house , dating back to 1796.
Horaris
- From July 1st to August 31st: Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm – Sundays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
- From September 1 to June 30: Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Closed on non-holiday Sundays and Mondays, 25 and 26 December and 1 and 6 January.
