This is a permanent exhibition of smoking pipes. The manufacture of pipes has more than 300 years of tradition in Maçanet de Cabrenys.
Until 2001, the Salvatella factory operated in Maçanet, dating back to 1887 and producing up to 150,000 pipes a year.
Due to this tradition, slow smoking is also celebrated in the village once a year. Each participant has two matches, a pipe and three grams of tobacco and the challenge is to go smoking without the pipe going out.
The day also consists of workshops and exhibitions related to the pipe, with the support of the guild of tobacconists.
