Explore the History of the Pau Family Hut in Llers: An Architectural Treasure With a Story

The Pau Family Hut stands out as a conical hut with buttresses, attached to a wide separating wall. Its structure is impressive with two large buttresses invading the facade up to the door, while on the side, there is an annexed space for the donkey with a feeding trough. With a chronology contemporary to the first large agricultural huts in the Vinyers plain, built in the early decades of the 19th century, this hut reflects the architectural richness of the region.

Between 2014 and 2018, the hut lost its facade due to a landslide. The old facade had a rare feature in the area, reminiscent of constructions in Garrotxa or Balearic Islands, as it was covered at the top with two pieces placed in a vertex.

The restoration of this architectural treasure has been driven by the Llers Town Council with the support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, within the framework of the “Grants for the execution of restoration and conservation works of properties of notable cultural value for the triennium 2020-2022,” and has been carried out by E.I. Foresterra SCCL.

Discover this hut with a fascinating history, now preserved and restored, contributing to keeping alive the cultural and architectural richness of Llers.
