Dolmen del Solar d’en Gibert

It is a Middle Neolithic corridor tomb. Salvador Sanpere i Miquel, in 1881, named it the Devesa de Torrent dolmen. But when Isidre Macau, in 1934, studied this construction, it was thought to be unpublished, he built a new plant and gave it the current name of Solar d’en Gibert. Excavations were carried out in 1979 and 1988. The 1979 excavation yielded 110 fragments of undecorated handmade pottery, 42 fragments of bell-shaped vases and 13 fragments of bell-shaped bowls, as well as 10 pieces of necklace, 5 of which of gold, and a sheet of flint. In 1995, several members of GESEART coordinated its restoration. Based on its architectural type, Tarrús (2002) places it chronologically in the second phase of the megalithic tombs of the Empordà – Rosselló, that is, in the second half of the 4th millennium BC.
