The castle of La Trinitat crowns the tip of La Poncella above the lighthouse of Roses. This military building, dating from 1544, was built during the reign of Emperor Charles I. It is shaped like a five-pointed star, with sharp angular edges to defend against enemy projectiles. Its dimensions are quite considerable and its walls are more than 2 m thick.
